2026 Prediction: AI Will Become Less Magical and More Embedded
The first wave of AI adoption felt magical.
Ask a question, get an answer. Generate text. Generate code. Summarise documents. Create images. Translate ideas into drafts.
The next wave will feel less magical but more useful.
AI will be embedded into normal workflows: support desks, CRMs, development environments, reporting tools, finance systems, knowledge bases, monitoring platforms, and customer portals.
That is where the real test begins.
A standalone AI tool can impress people. An embedded AI feature must work inside permissions, business rules, audit requirements, data quality problems, and user expectations.
This will expose weak systems.
If the underlying process is unclear, AI will amplify confusion. If the data is messy, AI will produce messy intelligence. If ownership is vague, AI will create accountability problems.
My prediction for 2026: the winners will not be the companies that “use AI.” Everyone will claim that.
The winners will be the ones that integrate AI into controlled, valuable, measurable workflows.
